The Journey of Lift & Shift: Our Mission and Vision
Founded in 2025, Lift&Shift Foundation began with a simple belief: no one should have to go without life’s basic necessities. We are a tax-exempt nonprofit charitable organization committed to meeting essential human needs and restoring dignity to individuals and families facing hardship. When life gets heavy—unexpected bills, job loss, housing instability, or a crisis that turns everything upside down—we step in to help people breathe again.
Our mission is to lift people in times of difficulty and shift communities toward stability, opportunity, and hope. We do this by providing critical support through food assistance and other essential resources that help families make it through today while building a stronger tomorrow. We meet people where they are, lead with compassion, and offer help in a way that protects dignity—because support should never come with shame.
Our vision is a community where every person has consistent access to basic necessities and a real pathway forward. We imagine neighborhoods where families aren’t one emergency away from falling behind, where children can focus on being kids, and where support systems are strong enough to catch people before they slip through the cracks. Lift&Shift exists to make that future possible—one act of care, one family served, and one community strengthened at a time.
Founder’s Message
From Woodie Robinson, President & Founder
Lift & Shift Foundation was founded on a core principle that has guided my professional and personal life: service matters.
Throughout my career in military service, federal government leadership, and executive cybersecurity roles, I have had the privilege of protecting national security, leading complex organizations, and serving missions larger than myself. Yet beyond policy, operations, and strategy, I have consistently seen one undeniable truth — strong communities are the foundation of a strong nation.
When individuals and families struggle to meet basic needs, everything else becomes harder: education, employment, stability, and opportunity. Lift & Shift Foundation was created to address that gap.
Our mission is simple but urgent: provide food, clothing, and life essentials to those in need while restoring dignity and strengthening communities. We do not view this as charity alone — we view it as responsible stewardship and community leadership.
The same discipline, accountability, and structured governance that guide my professional career also guide this foundation. We are committed to transparency, ethical oversight, and measurable impact. Every donation is treated with respect. Every volunteer hour is valued. Every partnership is built with integrity.
